The French parliament has recently approved a bill intended to regulate definitively bets placed online, including poker. Over 100 players will play their assets to achieve one of the licenses in the country Gaul, over the next year when open enrollment process. Eric Woerth, the architect of the law, confirmed that about 50 licenses will be granted.

The most controversial point of the measure rests with the poker players who live in France, since the bill has a clause stipulating that any company wishing to obtain a license must close their accounts to the players settled in France during six months before they can choose the new license. A measure bizarre and somewhat ridiculous, but mandatory as all regulations.

It has also made other appendage in terms of where the platforms are opting to leave their office. What you are trying to avoid with this is not to provide licenses to companies with their offshore funds housed as the Isle of Man, Gibraltar ... What will impede the licensing of sites such as PartyPoker.com and Bwin.

Finally, and in return, the French government announced that online poker will have a direct tax of two percent.
